Learn to create beautiful arrangements and hand-dyed fabrics with the harvest from your backyard garden. Just in time for Mother’s Day, join designers, artists, and authors Stefani Bittner, Alethea Harampolis, and Sasha Duerr in creating a garden-based plant dye palette at SHED’s HomeFarm. Participants will create and take home their own flower arrangement as well as a textile in dye.
The class will begin with a tasting, overview, and discussion of the medicinal and culinary uses of plants including rosemary, flowering basil, and yarrow, led by Stefani. After a walk around SHED’s HomeFarm to identify blooms and plants, Alethea will lead the group in a floral arranging class. Finally, Sasha will demonstrate how to dye with the plant palette from the day.
A delicious lunch will be included.
